Can the GlideLok be operated from both sides of the door?

Yes! That is one of our biggest selling points. Many child safety locks for doors with handles / levers will only operate from one side, which means you could accidentally get trapped in a room while in your own home. The GlideLok can easily be operated from both sides of the door by an adult.

Even if you must install the peg on the “other” side of the door due to how your door sits in the frame, you can still use the GlideLok because it slides across from both sides.

Remember, the screw and peg must go on the side of the door WITHOUT the hinges. This is also the side of the door that is NOT flush with the frame. The side of the door that is not flush with the frame will have door frame exposed at the top for you to drill in the screw/peg. Then you will just place the sliding piece based on which side of the door you are installing the screw/peg, so that the U-shaped piece will slide over the screw/peg.

Since you can operate the GlideLok from BOTH sides of the door, it will not matter from an operational standpoint which side of the door you must install the GlideLok on.
